Interlibrary loan is a service that provides books, journal articles and conference papers not available in the Munitions Directorate Technical Library collection.  The library participates in a world-wide borrowing and lending system to provide access to materials not held in the library’s collection.  The service is available to all Eglin AFB personnel. 

Policy:

• To request an interlibrary loan please send an email to the Interlibrary Loan Department, or call 882-5586.  Please provide as much information as possible prior to submitting the request.
• Turnaround time varies considerably.  However the average turnaround time for fulfillment is between one and seven days.  Depending on the availability of the item it may take two weeks or longer to fill a request.
• The library will not place interlibrary loan requests for course textbooks.
• Patrons will be notified by email when the item arrives.  Articles will normally be available in PDF format and physical items will be held at the circulation desk for pick up.
• To renew borrowed books, patrons should submit their requests to the Interlibrary Loan Department, or call 882-5586 at least three days before the due date.  All renewals are at the discretion of the lending library and may not be approved.  
• It is the patron's responsiblity to return books on or prior to their due date, so that the library's borrowing privileges with the lending library will not be jeopardized.  Items can be returned at the circulation desk or in the library book drop.  If an interlibrary loan book is lost, the patron will be responsible for replacement.
